Most people feel that they can't seem to meditate because they find it hard to switch off, focus or to clear their mind for to much is going on in life for them. Well let me bring to light that meditation is not about clearing the mind to nothing, sitting and thinking of nothing or switching off. Meditation is about bringing what you have in the mind to light so you are able manage, balance and gain fucus of the fog that has been created in the mind that stops us in every day life to focus and move forward.
Meditation has so many beneficial properties that will help feed, rebalance the mind and spirit giving you more focus, direction and growth. Here are some of many reasons to why mediation should be so essential to life.

There are many types of mediation that can be easily practiced, the key is to find what best suits you to develop and grow in your own time

Focused or Concentrative Meditation
This is a practice of focusing on one of your five senses on a specific sensation or object. Here are some techniques that are used - listening to signing bowls or a gong, staring at a candle, focusing on your breath, counting mala beads or prayer beads. When your mind wanders you are able to bring it back to focus with your chosen object, sound, or sensation.
This is great for beginners but like all meditation it can be challenging so practice and get the mind uest to change can take time for some. It is a good idea to build your practice slowly and gradually lengthening your meditation sessions as your ability to focus grows.

Mindfulness Meditation
​​​Mindfulness meditation involves becoming aware of your own thoughts, feelings and sensations without judgment or distraction. Your breath, an object or sound will help to anchor you like above.
Here you focus your mind on the process of inhaling and exhaling as part of your focus. Take notice to when your mind or thoughts start to wander or arise, it is a natural happening for your mind to do so and not to be controlled. Observe your mind wandering letting the thoughts and feelings arise without judgment. Simple just note them, then gently draw your attention back to your breath.
​Transcendental meditation
Transcendental meditation involves repeating a mantra words, sounds or phrase. The mantra helps you focus and relax without needing to concentrate or expend mental energy.​​

Body scan
This very simple meditation is great for beginners. During a body scan you close your eyes and focus on one part of the body at a time, starting with the toes and slowly moving up the body toward the head. Take your time on each body part noting all sensations, tension and emotions. In turn you can then take the breath or light to pass through each area of the body to cleanse and relax.

Guided meditation
This meditation uses your creative side opening the mind to sight through the 3rd eye and imagination, picturing particular situations throughout. This aids in relaxation, calmness, release and peace giving great balance between the heart, mind and spirit. A guided meditation is were you are talked though in detail encouraging you to imagine the sights, smells, tastes, and sounds of any mediation scenario. This type of mediation takes patience time and practice to gain full vision and benefit, once mastered your ear senses will open giving the ability to hear your own guides
